Driver

Location: Ashland, OH


Join Kingston Healthcare as a Driver and make a difference every day. We’re looking for a dependable, people-first coordinator to manage our daily schedule and provide safe, friendly transportation for residents to medical appointments, therapies, and community outings. If you love organizing the moving pieces and making someone’s day on the ride there, this is for you.

If you are:

  • Organized, calm under pressure, and great with people.
  • A safe, courteous driver with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable assisting older adults and individuals with mobility needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport patients to and from appointments, procedures, and community outings.
  • Ensure the vehicle maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all passengers.
  • Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle and provide support with mobility devices as needed.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, including mileage, patient information, and any transport-related incidents.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and ensure the vehicle is in optimal operating condition.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality, rights, dignity, and personal property.
  • Create and maintain daily/weekly transport and activity schedules (appointments, therapies, outings).
  • Coordinate with families, providers, and internal teams (Nursing, Therapy, Activities).
  • Drive company vehicle(s) and safely assist residents on/off using proper transfers and wheelchair tie-downs.
  • Track mileage, maintenance needs, and appointment documentation.
  • Confirm next-day schedules; communicate changes, delays, and no-shows.
  • Support activities team during non-drive time (set-ups, sign-ins, resident reminders).

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record (required).
  • Ability to lift/assist up to 50 lbs with proper technique; stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Prior scheduling/dispatch or healthcare/transport experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid preferred (or willing to obtain); HIPAA awareness.
  • Familiarity with basic office tools (Google/Excel) and phone etiquette.

Work Schedule:

  • Typical hours: Mon–Fri business hours with occasional weekend needs for outings and some early AM/late PM as needed for appointments.
